Pagine speciali
Pietro Gallinotti was born on July 24, 1885 in Solero (Alessandria) and died on May 12, 1979 in Solero.
He is among the most representative Italian luthiers of the '900.  He did not like to advertise himself but nonetheless his instruments now carry the name of his home town Solero all over the world. Since 1918 Gallinotti had dedicated himself to the construction of bowed instruments, from 1922 onwards also to guitars.
He initially distinguished himself in Competitions such as those of Geneva in 1927, in Rome in 1933 and Bologna in 1936. Since 1950 he devoted himself almost exclusively to classical guitar obtaining official awards in Turin and Modena in 1953.
His instruments are still highly sought after by the concert performers for their excellent workmanship, power and sound quality.
Many great guitarists have their own instrument. First of all, Alirio Diaz who was his fervent admirer. He recorded an entire album with "his Gallinotti". Even the great Segovia had the opportunity to play his guitar in the 1960s in Siena. He appreciated it so much that he wanted to sign on the guitar.
Benvenuto Terzi (1892-1980) ordered several of his guitars, recommending to insert the "tube" (tornavoz) because he believed that the "era of the tube" had come!
