Carlo Ernesto Salio was born in Casale Monferrato (Alessandria); he lived mostly in Turin. He was a pupil of Andrés Segovia at the courses of the Accademia Chigiana (Siena) and he was an active concert performer and a famous teacher, the official reference in Turin. He can be accredited as being a craftsman of the modern guitar school in all North-West Italy. Among his pupils are several known contemporary performers, as Pier Luigi Cimma, Bruno Mattioli and Guido Margaria. |
