The old 78 and 33 rpm recordings are of great historical importance for musical interpretation. The intent is to make reconnaissance of the historical recordings of Italian and foreign guitarists, both as soloists and in chamber music in any formation, up to the first recordings for guitar and orchestra. This recognition combines the primary need to safeguard a heritage that otherwise would be lost, the intent to preserve the artistic and cultural value, or simply documentary, of these sources, and is the first initiative in the field to date activated on this theme and instrumental scope.
